A group of 30 students from semester V went
for tree walk at the Nageswara Rao Park, Mylapore on September 21,
2012. This was a joint venture with Nizhal, NGO, working on various
greening activities around the city. The purpose of the walk is to
educate people. Trees form a long term symbiotic relationships with
their surroundings. Avenue trees are the biggest blessing for places
like Chennai. Mrs Latha, a trustee at Nizhal who conducted the tree
walk emphasized to learn about trees and its history. Trees! They
give a little architectural tips and hints too! Wide at the base,
Tapered to the top! And with buttresses!? Plant sensitively, think
properly, GO GREEN!
