“e-Luminate’12”
A National Level Technical Symposium “e-Luminate ver 12” was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 29th September 2012. e-Luminate was inaugurated by Mr. Raj Bala, Chief Technology Officer, Cognizant Technical Solutions in the MGR hall, at 9:30 a.m. Dr.E.R. Naganathan, HOD, CSE department, delivered the welcome address.

A National Level Technical Symposium “e-Luminate ver 12” was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on 29th September 2012. e-Luminate was inaugurated by Mr. Raj Bala, Chief Technology Officer, Cognizant Technical Solutions in the MGR hall, at 9:30 a.m. Dr.E.R. Naganathan, HOD, CSE department, delivered the welcome address.
The
chief guest, Mr. Raj Bala, gave an insight to evolving and
emerging IT industry and its ap-plications. He gave the
students the right attitude and source of inspiration required
for them. The symposium magazine “e-Luminate” was released by
the chief guest, HOD and symposium convenor Mr. R. Mohandas.
The vote of thanks was given by Mr. R. Mohandas followed by
the rest of the proceedings. Around 600 students from all over
Tamil Nadu participated in the event. This gave them an
op-portunity to take part and compete against the bright and
the best engineering minds from across the southern part of
the country, both in technical and the non- technical
events.
The prizes for the winners includes
holiday package from Club Mahindra and also other cash prizes
worth 1.5 lakhs. All the participants were awarded with
participation certificates.
The various events that took place were:
1. U-bugger
2. Nerd’s word (Paper presentation)
3. Gamer’s yard.
4. Picasso Magnifique.
5. Aperture
6. Adzap
7. Treasure hunt
8. Quiz
9. Robotics
10. Source Code
11. Battle grounds
12. Surprise events
Papers were presented on the recent topics such as Cloud computing, Artificial intelligence, ro-botics, data mining etc. Over 200 papers were registered out of which 80 papers were chosen for the paper presentation and other fifty for the poster presentation.
Gaming attracted a crowd of about 400 students who actively took part in it which continued the whole day. Robotics and battle ground were successful as well. Debugging and coding featured mind blowing talents among students and their great interest towards coding.
The events came to an end at 4:00 pm with the valedictory function. The valedictory address was delivered by the Registrar Dr. Pon Ramalingam. The Registrar and the HOD (CSE) distributed the prizes to the winners and congratulated the Hindustan team for their hard work. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. R. Mohandas.
