International Conference on Recent Trends in Renewable Energy Systems

As a part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Hindustan University, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized an International Conference from 17th to 18th , March 2011.

In spite of Scientific Development and IT revaluation today, the very survival of the human community and the balancing of Eco-system are being continuously kept under threat due to global warming, climate change, zone depletion etc., and so it was felt important to propagate the message of "Green and Clean Energy" for the 21st century through this conference and hence the topic "Recent Trends in Renewable Energy System"

Aims & Objectives of the Conference:

• Explore the barriers for Implementing Renewable Energy (RE) Technologies like Solar, Wind, Bio-mass etc.,
• Expedite the installations of RE Systems in corporate & Power sectors
• Provide a forum for tapping the hidden potential in clean Energy
• Identify the Researches around the world for innovation in RE

Technical Partner

'ENFUSE' - Energy and Fuel Users Association of India is a pioneering body comprising of technical experts in the field of Energy including Renewables. ENFUSE played the role of Technical Partner for the conference by deputing expert speakers to share their expertise and to deliberate on various issues.

The participants of the conference were of four categories:
1. The industrial experts who shared their rich expertise in the field of Solar, Wind Energy, Bio Fuels, Ocean etc.,
2.The academic researchers who presented their finding in the RE field.
3. The implementing stake - holders from industries of Wind Energy and Solar Energy
4.The young audience of UG & PG courses.

In total, there were nearly 600 Participants for the two days conference.

Dr. Robert Franke from Solar Valley Project, Germany was the Chief Guest. He made the key-note address detailing the Solar Valley Project in Germany and elaborated on Photo-voltaic cells. Shri V. Subramaniam, Former Secretary of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy to Govt. of India, New Delhi, presented the Indian Scenario of RE. Mr. S. Ramalingam, National President, ENFUSE delivered a special inaugural lecture on Nation Mission on Energy Enhancement.

Technical Sessions

After the formal Inauguration on 17/03/2011, Technical Sessions by Industrial experts (Annexure - I) from the field of Solar, Wind, Ocean, Bio etc., and the Paper presentation by academic researches were organized. researcher, PG, UG Students.

QUIZ & Panel Discussion:

In order to make the student participants involve in the technical sessions, a Technical Quiz and a Panel discussion on Renewable Energy were organized on the second day.

No of Academic Participants:

More than 100 research papers were received for presentation in the conference. However, only 50 papers were selected for presentation and other authors were allowed to participate in the conference.

The whole outcome of the conference is brought out in proceedings with inclusion of all Research Papers and the expert speeches. The power point material used for lectures is made into a CD and supplied to all external participants along with the proceedings
