Product Development Department

The students of the University have special facilities in several areas to get value addition during their training in the institution.

Short courses are offered in several High Tech areas, which will get the student a distinctive cutting edge in technological advancements.

A student can select any of the new technical areas in consultation with the Department concerned :

1. Computer Technology : Assembling own computers and laptops.
2. Training on AirĂ¯¿½ conditioning : Assembling own Acs and servicing.
3. Training on Refrigeration / Water Collers / Chilling Plants.
4. Motor Vehicle Servicing & Driving : Auto Club (Inclusive of License)

Note: Membership details are available with the concerned Departments and will be given to regular programme students.

HITS Trio Hits Headlines

Mr. Justin George, Mr. Kishore and Mr. Kalyan Shrestha the final year aeronautical engineering students of HITS accomplished their dream to build a two-seater experimental aeroplane with a Maruti Suzuki Esteem Engine. The trio designed and built the aircraft from scratch in a span of four-and-a-half months at a cost of Rs. 5.8 lakh.

HYUNDAI MOTORS DONATES SONATA TO HITS

Mr. HS Lheem, Managing Director, Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), in the presence of Ms. Lakshmi, President Lions Club donated a Hyundai Sonata (Black) to HITS, on 18th March 2009. It was received by Mr. Ashok Verghese, Director (HITS), Dr. D. G. Roy Chowdhury, Dean (Mechanical Sciences), Mr. M. Subramanian, HOD (Auto) and Mr. M. Jaikumar, Sr. Lecturer (Auto).

STALWARTZ TEAM OF HINDUSTAN UNIVERSITY ETCHED A MARK AT BAJA SAE INDIA 2010
The team STALWARTZ comprising students of Automobile and Mechanical Departments of Hindustan University participated for the third time in JKTyre BAJA SAE India, a competition organized by SAE India (Society of Automotive Engineers) at the NATRAX facility of NATRIP in Pithampur, Indore, Madhya Pradesh in the last week of January. The students had, to engineer and race the best off- road buggy with the engine sponsored by LOMBARDINI. The competition was judged by a panel of 60 judges comprising of technocrats, CEOs, R&D experts, senior automobile engineers, racers and auto journalists. More than 1500 students from 80 institutions across India took part in the event. After working hard for more than seven months in the auto laboratory, the students successfully fabricated an all wheel drive buggy with a self designed gearbox which gives the driver options for maximum torque and. speed. The vehicle also gives an option to switch between two wheel drive and all wheel drive. 95 percent of the vehicle parts were fabricated in-house by the students themselves. The students of Hindustan University successfully completed the 3-hour endurance run after clearing various static and dynamic tests for the first time. The icing of the event was that at the HR meet organized during the event, two students of Hindustan University got placed in Mahindra & Mahindra on the spot.


FROM PADUR TO SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT (UK)

Apogee Racing Team, a team of three Automobile Engineering students from Hindustan University, Padur, participated in the Formula Student competition organized by IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers) held between 16th and 19th July 2009, at the Silverstone Racing Circuit, Northampton in the United Kingdom.
