National Franchisee Training Programme conducted by EEE Department - Hindustan University, Best Chennai Engineering Colleges

Chennai Engineering Colleges have always been at their best when it comes to extra-curricular activities. They have exhibited enormous interest in equipping the students with leadership qualities. Hindustan University, one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges is no less in organizing such programmes.

“National Franchisee Training Programme” was conducted for final year EEE students from 24.02.2011 to 26.02.2011 at Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges).

Er. Vathsala Gurumurthy, Deputy General Manager, Staff Training College, TNEB, Chennai, was the Chief Guest and she inaugurated the Training Programme. This programme was funded by the Government of India and conducted by TANGEDCO (Subsidiary of TNEB Ltd.) in collaboration with Rural Electrification Corporation. Training kits and certificates were distributed to the students. A substation visit for the students was also arranged by Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) as part of the programme.

The following resource persons delivered lectures to the students of EEE Department, Hindustan University (one of the best Chennai Engineering Colleges) on various topics related to Power Systems.

  • Er. Vathsala Gurumurthy, Deputy General Manager, Staff Training College, TNEB, Chennai, delivered a lecture on “Present Power Scenario”.
  • Er. B. Srinivasan, Senior Manager/Technical Training Institute, Chennai gave a lecture on “Generation & Transmission”.
  • Er. Venkatesan, Executive Engineer, Substation, IT Corridor, Chennai also delivered a lecture titled, “Distribution of Electric Power”. (Courtesy: Chennai Engineering Colleges)
  • Er. Veeramurthy, Assistant Executive Engineer, Sholinganallur Substation explained various equipments and operations in the substation during the substation visit.
  • Er. A. Narayanamurthy, Executive Engineer, Raiiv Gandhi Gram Vigyan Yojana, Chennai explained on “Franchisee Models”.
