Hindustan Made Its Presence Felt At AERO INDIA 2011



A Mammoth Aerospace Event and Air Show of the year in the Asian Continent took place at Yelahanka, Bangalore from 9th - 13th February 2011. It was a joint effort by the Government of India and various private companies involved in the Aerospace Market. As this venue turned out to be a place for International Aerospace Giants, several organizations and companies exhibited their products and services chiefly to market them.

A seven member team from the Hindustan University led by the Head of the School of Aeronautical Sciences, Prof. Asokan and Prof. Dalbir Singh and five 3rd year students namely Mr. Arvindachan, Mr. Baskar, Mr. Suseendar, Mr. Venoje, Mr. Vinoth D. represented the Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) at the Air Show 2011. A stall was put up inside the Air Force Station which was the venue for the Air Show and the Business Exhibition.

It was mainly to create awareness about the salient features and the various courses offered by the HGI. Many alumni of HGI visited the stall and were excited exchanging nostalgic moments. The notable alumni who met the HGI Team at the Air Show were currently working with Airbus, Infosys, Boeing, Laversab and Genser Aerospace.

Prof. Asokan and Mr. Vinoth D, 3rd year student were interviewed by Mr. Sameer, the reporter of the Bangalore Mirror (Times VPL) at the Air Show. The interview was published in Bangalore Mirror on 11th February 2011. The article featured about the facilities available at the Hindustan Group of Institutions and the priced possessions of the Military Aircraft MIG 23 and Boeing 737 at the Hindustan University Campus and various aircraft present at the Orient Flight School, Pondicherry and Robinson R-22 Helicopter at the HIET Campus, Guindy.
